On April 2, 2021, Butte County based South Feather Water and Power filed a lawsuit against the Brownsville based North Yuba Water District and its Directors, Doug Neilson, Fred Mitchell, Gary Hawthorne, Gretchen Flohr and Eric Hansard, for violating CEQA reporting requirements for the Oroleve Creek ditch piping project begun in the summer of 2020. Director Flohr is missing from this ground breaking photo-op because she wasn't invited.
Hanson Bros. Enterprises out of Grass Valley was awarded the contract to construct this pipe for a cost of $588,054. NorthStar Eningeering was paid $95,390 to oversee the construction of this pipe. It is likely these two companies will become embroiled in South Feather's lawsuit.
