In February 2014 Yuba Water Agency (then Yuba County Water Agency) General Manager sent an email to South Feather's General Manager Mike Glaze requesting the Slate Creek Power Tunnel be closed due to severe drought at the time. This would stop water from Slate Creek from being diverted through this tunnel.
